First, I apologize to those who have received this email more than once. We are trying to get this information out to as many people as possible.
There have been rumors floating around that Weekday Nursery will not be here next year. As a board member of the Cheverly Weekday Nursery School, I can say with absolute certainty that this is NOT true. Weekday Nursery will be open next year, offering the same great environment, instruction and care that have been its hallmarks for almost 40 years.
Weekday Nursery is a part of the Cheverly community. We are, as we have always been, a local resource run by local residents for the benefit of Cheverly. Like all schools, we have experienced our growing pains. However, that has not impinged on our ability to provide a great educational option for Cheverly’s young children.
This is the time of year when parents are making decisions about which school best suits their child. To better let you know what options are available, I wanted to tell you that WDN has decided to offer some new options for the upcoming school year:
1. We have added a 3/4 session to our existing 1/2 day and full day options. The 3/4 session would run from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. This would be ideal for a parent that was looking for a longer day of school for their child but had other obligations in the morning.
2. In response to the needs of working parents we are offering an after care program (if enough participants sign up). The aftercare program would be in the Nursery classroom and would run from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. It would be for enrolled students only.
We are currently enrolling new and returning students. If you would like more information about the Cheverly Weekday Nursery please feel free to contact Nancy McGuirk or Linda Carr at 301-773-2297 or check out our website at
