Hi,

My bride and I are thinking of changing from the Comcast package of TV and internet to FIOS.    Anyone else done this?    What do you think?    You could respond here or email me - jockfriar@hotmail.com

Thanks
Jock

Hi Jock!!

I have verizon fios 20/5 (20 megabytes downloading and 5 megabytes uploading).  This is an extra $10 per month above the 10/2 package.  It Works great and is very fast.  I have the computer and landline phone with Verizon Fios...but not the TV..  Was going to include the TV in the tri-package but Direct TV knocked off $15 per month when I told them I was thinking of switching.  Maybe Comcast would do the same for you if contact them.  I'm happy with the set up for now and may eventually switch the TV too when the present contract runs out.

Note:  if you are going to get high speed fios make sure your computer has enuf processor speed and memory to handle it.  Mine was not as fast at first, but speeded up tremendously when I upgraded the RAM, essentially doubling it and adjusting the virtual RAM to three times the RAM.  You can buy additional memory for RAM at cost of from $15 to $40.   I had already increased the processor speed previously to 2 Ghz. so just lacked the memory.

Hope this helps!!
